Committed Action For Relief and Education

Committed Action for Relief and Education (CARE) is an Indian NGO; registered under Societies Registration Act 1860 was formed by a Group of committed development professionals (a team of ten young MSW’s and friends) in the year 1998. The Mission was to bring people, their ideas and knowledge together and provide a platform for helping the underprivileged section of the society.

The name Committed Action for Relief and Education captures the ideology that provided the foundation for the establishment of the organization. Devotion and commitment to community activities along with faith in the values and abilities of all human being, are necessary for an actual change in the current situation. However, the will, the interest and the sincere feelings may exist in a number of people but are not enough if are not followed by actions. CARE has set a plan of actions that can be summarized in two words. Relief and Education.

In the year (1998) of its inception, CARE organized a big cultural programme for the street children. CARE also implemented a slum development programme during 1999-2001. It was then realized that there is a need to develop Para professional from amongst the society who will serve for their fellow men and women. With this thought, CARE started a six-month training course in June 2002.
